Campfires?

Hi newb here doing research. But I've got a plan!

Question for you adventure folks...when out in boonies do you ever do a campfire? To me it's a huge part of camping but realize The challenges given at times you may be actually trespassing.

What do you do? Do any of you carry a small metal pit?
