Intersate Refrigerator Question

The elegiacal power consumption of a 2 way or 3 way fridge, when run on electricity (either 12vdc or 120 vac, the watts are the same) ranges from ~200-350 watts, depending on size.

300 watts on 12 vdc is 25 amps, so running the fridge of 12 vdc while the engine is running is fine, even with 100 amp alternator, unless your batteries are chronically dead.

We have a norcold 12/120 volt fridge. I run it on a pair of agm batteries 100 amp hour each. I haven't pushed it too much yet, but it has run all day and my battery bank was still at 98% It pulls 2.5 amps while running. We keep it at the mid range point on the t-stat and it is nice and cold. We don't have solar yet, but usually camp in a spot we can plug in.
