Default Tire choices for 3500 Chassis (2011)

I have a 2012 (2011 Chassis) Coach House RV with a 3500 Chassis. I’m looking to replace the stock Kuhmo Road Venture tires (LT 215/85R16) which have now aged out with sidewall cracks. I was considering replacing them with Michelin LTX MS2’s which had worked very well for me on my prior 2005 TIN 2500.

Michelin does not make that tire size to match my stock size.

I’m wondering what other choices are recommended. I’d like to stay with a non AT type tire for the smoother and quieter ride. I quite liked the Michelin’s LTX choice from the stock Continentals on my prior T1N.

Tire Rack offers some alternatives:
Yokohama Geolander HT G056
Bridgestone Duravis R500
BF Goodrich AT K02
Toyo Open Country AT II

I thinking I would prefer a ribbed tire over a blocked tire for ride quality.

I am looking for any comments or recommendations.

Arthur

I'd go with the Yoko HTs
or Khumo HT51s

urbanbye,
Michelin does not make the LTX MS2 any more, but the replacement Defender MS2 is just as good, if not
better.
You can get the LT215/85R16E Defender LTX MS if you look.

Thanks for the replies.

Roger, I checked the Michelin website and they do not list the Defender LTX MS in that size. The are recommending the XPS Ribbed instead. Iíve never seen that tire mentioned on the Forum before.

The other suggestions for the Kuhmo donít thrill me as that is what I have now. The Yokohamaís are only sold at Tire Rack stores and no where else. I wasnít thrilled with Contiís on my prior TIN. They rolled too hard.

Looking for a smoother roller. Willing to sacrifice wear.

FMCA has a good tire discount program. discount more than covers membership costs, if you are not signed up already.

Michelin just started selling agilis cross climate light truck tires in the US.

mikeme has it right,
My guess is that the Defender LTX MS in the LT215/85R16E size is being replaced by the agilis cross climate LT.
I'm heading to the dealer in the next few days and they have Michelins on some of the demo 2019's.
I will check to see which Michelin Tires are currently being installed as the OEM tires on new Sprinters.
