Friends Vito gearbox blew up in Slovenia. Can't find a replacement, know anyone?

My friends 99 Vito had its gearbox blow up in Slovenia on their 1st big road trip. They can't find a replacement anywhere and asked me if i could buy one in the UK and ship it over... that sounds like a very expensive solution.

Anyone here know any Merc breakers or specialists in Slovenia, Italy, Hungary, Romania, etc?

The only person I can think of to ask for help in the UK is Steve Ball at Mercedes Gen-In, may be worth a long shot?

Probably cheaper to buy another Vito and drive it over to them!

'Probably cheaper to buy another Vito and drive it over to them!' indeed, i think postage would get silly.

I'm looking for Merc people in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia to ask where they'd go looking for a new/old gearbox

Lets get a little more specific about the problem. The NG5 is a very common box in Europe you should be able to get any part cheaply. just find out exactly what has broken. Good start would be to get the model number. The reason you have not any response is because you are to lazy to frame the question intelligently. Eric.
