Default 2009 sprinter 315 ex Ambo, advise appreciated

Hello everyone from Boya, Perth. We are new and hope to add to this community
The story so far

Thu- Well after months at the auctions, we finally go one, held the bid
Drove it home with a permit, engine light comes on putting the engine into emergency mode, make it home, battery is kaput so replaced it and no more engine light

Friday- sprinter booked in for licensing. On the way engine light come on again Spoke to mechanic and he said he would look into it. Three hours later, pass inspection and no more engine light was told that, turbo charger under boost and system scanned and cleared.

Then 1km down the road the engine light comes on and it's back to safety mode

So looking for someone to help, but don't know where to start, MB dealer, Auto electrician or Mechanic, any advice appreciated

David, Gabi and the dogs

Hi 12 legs sprinting
Welcome ! I can only suggest you search this forum for answers. There are experts here on everything! I believe the turbo is vacumn controlled and the small hoses crack and leak. Just do a visual search, or get a mechanic if necessary to do it.
Do not go to a dealer IMHO as their only expertise is writing out the bill
There will most likely be an independent Merc specialist repairer around over there somewhere because there always is. They will have the diagnostic plug in tool also which helps to get to the problem area.
Good luck Jaahn

You need to take it to someone with MB Star Diagnostics. An independent Mercedes mechanics should have it. Without that you are wasting your time. Looks like your safety inspection mechanic checked all the obvious causes.

Oh, and read this thread...

Thanks Jaahn, you could be on the money. I spent some time last night searching this site and found some threads that may help.

Looks like the engine light comes on when 1. Engine has runs out of fuel leaving air in the pipes.
2. Exhaust issues. First look will be at the vacuum routeing. Cheers David

Fixed, followed the vacuum routeing and found the problem, l could suggest that the inspection mechanic had not reconnected the hose properly after checking the boost but who knows. No engine light and engine runs well, Gold star to Jaahn. Cheers David
