Default Dont buy one!!!

2007 Sprinter
1) Air doesn't work.
2) Power locks don't work.
3) Constantly power losses. Dangerous when pulling out into traffic.
4) Has been towed twice.
5) ERG valve replaced...still shutting off.
6) Brake pads cost has doubled. Dealer said that vendors were cutting Dodge off and they were having to get parts elsewhere at a higher price.
7) Have to drive 100 miles just to get it repaired. Repairs are constant. No local dealer will touch it.
8) Power steering pump replaced. Is leaking again but dealer said that since it was out of warranty they wouldn't replace it OR the ERG valve again. They know there is a problem there and they should stand behind their product until it is proven to be repaired.
9) The computer can't be cleared even by the dealer. Messages constantly popping up.

Ed do not despise Sprinter and learns to love it

Might it not be more constructive to see if someone can help you sort out the issues with your Sprinter? Aimless rants won't achieve that and there are certainly people on here who properly understand the Sprinter and are perfectly capable of making it work reliably. The vast majority of Sprinters will do several hundred thousand miles in their working lives with nary an issue.

and what % don't? Mine did not. I have had to have a new head put on at 106k. My old Chevy express went 350k with normal maintenance. I would like to go back to a Chevy express motor home but I can not afford the depreciation to sell the sprinter.

You'll never win on that argument as there will always be a new member that blows in , and trashes the Sprinter and rarely comes back with a reply, as to the negativity of his or hers attitude.
It's life some have ways of asking for help others don't want it and blame the manufacture, or dealer.
It's sad some members have a bad run and others have a perfect run, but the first post is biased and with out content of reasoning any one can drop in a bash a Sprinter or be totally negative and have! Members on the forum who have done it in the past, and will continue to do it into the future.
Some learn some don't , either ignore the thread or let it run it's course, usually short lived too.
Let the wind blow.

There isn't anthing magic about a Chevy Express or a Sprinter for that matter. It's just a piece of engineering. Give it the right maintenance and it'll keep working. Fine so you needed a head. What happened, did it blow a gasket, someone screw up injector or glow plug removal?

I just fail to see the point of coming onto a forum where there are people capable of giving you positive advice and just having a moan. Yes **** happens, yes parts fail, yes there are some seriously poor mechanics out there. However; whether it is getting a piece of engineering to work, climbing a mountain, building a successful business, or any other endeavour you wish to succeed in the basic route to success is always the same; you put one foot in front of the other, put a brick onto the last one and keep your eyes on the horizon and move forwards.

Hell, with a Sprinter all you need to do is ask for a bit of advice and pick off a spanner. Sawing off your own fingers isn't even necessary. It ain't hard.

And just who do you guys think is going to help me? Dodge sure won't. They assured me they fixed the problem before the warranty ran out. Now that it has run out it, is all on me. I own 4 Dodges by the way.

If Dodge would repair it there wouldn't be an attitude. When it stalls in traffic it is very dangerous. The real problem here is being "blown off" by the dealer. You call it "without content of reasoning"? When someone gets killed by the stall will that be reasoning?

You can buy a lemon from any car company. It happens.( it happened to me once with
a car in the late 80's and its frustrating. so i'm not blaming mercedes/dodge.

But unhappily the issues with getting the sprinter serviced/repaired in the USA

is a valid complaint from Big Ed.

Someone on this board said that MB dealers themselves will be selling/servicing sprinters.

Well I hope so-nobody else is stepping up to the plate.
