Thanks to Eric - who gave up his Sunday morning on very short notice and supplied an alternator, a new pulley and spanner time - we were able to (quietly) make our Sunday evening booking on the Spirit of Tasmania.

Cheers

With this type of job it is an opportunity to learn some thing new. The alternator had the plastic cover missing from the front of the clutch pulley this had allowed water to get in the clutch locking it up it also rusted the tread so I could not get the pulley off, so the message to all is check that you have the plastic cover on your pulley. Eric.

Enjoy Tassie. We have been down there a few times now and for a few months each time. There is so much to see. People think it is a small island and a week will do. They are wrong.

Ian.

When you get to Strahan on the West Coast, after the Boat Trip, make sure you stay and see " The Ship that never Was" Play its great and if you sit in the front row, you/partner may be picked as one of the actors.

Looks great, have only been to Tassie for work a few times, can't wait to take the Sprinter down there for a few weeks.

G'day Aussie, thanks for sharing your trip.
With the ferry trip would you be able to sleep in your van on the sail over or is that a no no?
