NCV3 Water tank options?

I went with this one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007HRUVEY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 When I bought it, it was $67 including shipping. It's a 15 gallon. They make several sizes. I mounted mine on a DYI bracket above the passenger wheel well under the bed. The wheel well eats up space since you can't really put things above it without a bracket. It has worked well. The other side above the wheel well I have axes, shovels etc. mounted to the wall.

Our van is still a work in progress, but we have gone on a few trips in the condition you see in the picture below. There are sliders attached to the top rails of the ‘cage’ around the tank that slide out from couch mode to bed mode. The bed surface is obviously not installed in the picture.
35gal under our couch/bed strapped to the floor. I bought it at West Marine. It works great and has been in freezing temps without issue. The living space is, of course, heated.
About $230 for the tank.

Do you have any pictures? Would be nice to see how it’s setup.

Found an earlier picture of the 35 gal tank in its location, before tie-downs and a bunch oh other stuff. You can see how the PEX penetrates the floor just ahead of the pump. It crossed under the van and comes up on the passenger side to supply the kitchen sink.

On a 16 degree F night, the cold water supply that passes under the van, froze, but the hot water still flowed well in the morning. I’ve since wrapped them together and it’s worked very well. PEX isn’t phased by freezing, it just expands, then returns when it thaws.

Both the sold Sprinter and the Transit have fabricated 14 gauge SS tanks on the passenger side above and in front of the right rear wheel well under the bench seat. Talk to a local welding shop to get a price. By being a custom tank you can pick dimensions that fit the space available so you get more capacity in the available space. I made the tank out of cardboard to be sure it would fit before fabrication.

I just snapped some last night.

This is the garage area, so things just need to work well. I added that piece of ply between the legs just to hold the water pump. I also elevated the fill side 1 1/2 inches higher than the draw side to make sure I can fill and empty it all the way.

I went with a 35 gallon fresh water tank from Todd. Purchased it through Amazon and got the free Prime shipping. The “blue” wrapped tank in the back is the 11 gallon hot water heater so a total of 46 gallons on board along with 3 stage water filtration for our drinking water.

Link?

the worst amazon part ever. no description lol

What fittings did you use?

Haha I know right. I believe thinking back at it I had researched the tank I wanted based on dimensions and capacity and found the part number and once I saw that most of the tank companies was going to charge a good deal for shipping I then searched for that total price on Amazon. Here is a better link that has dimensions https://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=6477 you will find the 35 gallon listed.

How about Wheel Well Water tanks?

Do you know of other makers of water tanks that install over the wheel well? I'm aware of two. These might or might not make sense with regard to layout vs. generic rectangular (or custom stainless).

(1) Titan Vans, 20 gal: The design issue with this tank is that the cutout clears the wheel well by more than 5", wasting the equivalent of 9 gallons storage space.

(2) Northwest Conversions, 22 gal: Better fit around wheel well, tho possibly wider than what I'm seeking.

Attached are rudimentary drawings.

There are more options now to fit your needs from Northwest Conversions.

There's a company in the UK that does the wheel well tanks called Tanks Direct. They do two sizes.

To be honest though I think they're expensive for what they are and was considering a custom stainless solution. However, our water needs are quite modest so I ended up with two 25 lit plastic jerry cans (well, three because one of them is the waste container) which get swapped over as required.
