Default 2003 Rear A/C removal and cap

Hey All,

I have a 2003 2500 passenger van which came with the ceiling-mounted rear A/C unit. For this year, both the front and rear A/C units run off of the same compressor under the hood.

I already removed the rear-mounted evap unit, and detached the A/C refrigerant/return lines up until the passenger-side sidewall where they were attached with threaded nuts.

Is there an easy way to just cap these hoses off, so that I can recharge the AC system to have the front AC work again?

Thanks,
James K

Yes. Go to a place that installs freezer boxes on the back of trucks and they can give you what you need. They have to custom make hoses and whatnot for each application so they have all that stuff.

Why did you disconnect the rear unit? In MD my unit is indispensable for those passengers in the back.

I bought it as a passenger van and I'm converting it into a camper. The rear AC unit took up too much head clearance so I got rid of it. Just in time for our record hot summer :(
