I just took my Sprinter to Collie Autoworks and they were great, highly recommend! Very knowledgeable, there were about 12 other Sprinters in the lot so definitely have a reputation. Pricing was fair and they gave honest assessments, Roger was very helpful.

Unfortunately, I just got an email from European Auto Works in Sunnyvale and they are no longer in business, having lost their lease.

AJ's Auto Repair in Napa 707-227-1369
Their not cheap but their honest and good.
When dealing with these temperamental vehicles it doesn't pay to go cheap anyway.

I have also used Collie Autoworks in Marin for the more major services and second their quality of work and fair pricing. You can also get a loaner car if you call in advance. I come from Castro Valley...east bay...and make it a day in Marin if it's a one day turnaround. The owner also has an '07 and is converting or has already by now converted it into a camper...

Is there anyone in the South Bay? My 2008 needs some work and the Auto Mall Mercedes was really expensive. Looking to buy a rebuilt or ebay Turbofor my 2008 and need to get that installed.

Still seems to be such an issue in Bay Area ... a good dedicated Sprinter mechanic. We're in the heart of West Oakland and have had poor luck with the places mentioned in the thread that are within 15 miles. Seems like you need to leave the area to find good independent service.

Hi Tom. Got your note. I am actively working as a mechanic and helping folks out with their camper builds (mostly electrical and heating systems as I'm not a carpenter) here in the SFBA, actually in the East Bay, on T1N Sprinters. Feel free to give a call @ 8zero.5.44one.0ne52.three.
