Default Make your old interior Sprinter look new again.

My 2008 has seen a lot of road at 440k miles.
So I decided to upgrade the old worn out steering wheel, orange backlit instrument cluster to a white light one and a proper Mercedes shifter knob...from a 2017. That’s right.
Plug and play, even the airbag buttons work.
Instrument cluster needs reprogramming.
All menu options work from the steering wheel. Installed an Xtrons 9” headunit and I can turn volume up and down from the steering wheel. No more reaching to the headunit for that.
All in all, a well worth investment if you find a wrecked 2017-2018 and they’re asking fair prices for these parts.
Makes you enjoy driving it that much more!

WOW! That is very cool! I'd love to up grade my head unit, and have controls on my steering wheel. That is Bad Arsch!!!

No steering wheel buttons prior to installing this.
The plugs in the back of the steering wheel /airbag are the same.
I only used the GPS last night via google maps and it was tethered to my phone . Worked great!
I know it comes with its own maps that you can download into the unit and use it as a stand-alone device but haven’t tried that yet.

Thats interesting, these guys say you cant swap a non-button wheel to a button wheel, so I always thought it wasn't possible.

They probably can’t advertise it as a direct swap because not all steering wheel buttons will work, except the volume buttons and call/hang up buttons to the right of the steering wheel.
If you however get a newer instrument cluster as well, re-program that to your car, then sure enough, all buttons including the left side steering wheel work since you’re able to scroll through the instrument cluster menu and sub-menus just fine.
I’ve been asked in PM how much did all this cost and if anyone else is curious, around 650$ in parts and whatever your guy/dealership charges you for re-programming of the cluster.
Having said that, 2 of the sprinter dealerships in my area refused to do the work because they said it’s not gonna work.
So you just need to find a capable guy that knows his stuff around this.

These aftermarket head units... What happens at night? Are they easily dimmed?
