Curious if there was any difference in engine response or is this purely an emissions check? With the other responses I'll give pause before considering to have them do this fix.

There's always the idea of backing up what you have, letting them do the upgrade, then backing that up and storing it for future emissions tests...

We were still at a no trouble light / visual smoke check last year here but plug in is coming

This boiled down is re-flash to set the monitors so that they will close easier for emissions tests.
Some owners have reported difficulties in getting EGR monitors to close in area where this needs to be showing closure.

For those who live in California, the state has now updated their files to allow T1N's to have one open monitor and still pass smog. This firsthand information is from my smog pass two months ago.

Lloyd appears to have a Freightliner.... MB will do Freightliners (they're still owned by Daimler).

Dodges have to be done by Dodge (if you want them to pay for it)

Default FCA Emissions recall T21 No pass Ca.-GDE WORKED.

I bought a 2005 Sprinter in Vancouver Canada and imported it to Calif. Went to get it smogged and was told it needed to be flashed by the dealer. Went to a Dodge dealer because they said on the phone they could do it. After several hours they brought out the T 21 recall letter which says the parts are not available to repair the problem. They said I would have to contact Chrysler Canada which I did. They sent me to Chrysler USA who basically said it could not be fixed until they had the parts and had no idea when they would have them. So here I am in Ca. with a Sprinter that cannot be smogged so I cannot register it. So my brother who is on the forum and has a 2006 Sprinter suggested Green Diesel Engineering. I contacted them and followed their instructions and it smogged and registered in Ca. and seems to have more power. I havent checked the mileage but I am so happy for the fix. I thought I would have to sell the Spinter somewhere it did not need to be smogged. Green Diesel was great to work with.

Good to hear that it worked for you.

Some of the fallout from the Daimler Chrysler divorce has not helped owners of Dodge branded Sprinters.
