We parted... they on a 15hr ferry ride to Argentia and us ?????? :dunno:

*********

Went to downTown Sydney for a peek, ended up having lunch near the Harbor..

Frankly we noticed that almost ALL Lobster rolls served in restaurants/Food trucks/ highway booth stops in Newfoundland/Nova Scotia serve their Lobster rolls with l-o-t-s of celery, carrots slivers, lettuce, etc to enhance the portion...in actuality it's meager on lobster meat.

Nothing BEATS  a genuine MAINE lobster roll...full of flesh :rad:

Lunch complemented with Irish pub music downstairs...

Am pretty deaf to hear the fiddle strings...

BUT..:bounce::rad::rad::hugs: the foot stomping gives me the idea..:cheers:

Wine cellar....

If the Missus misbehaves...the proprietor had a good idea :dunno:

Entered New Brunswick province...

The Town of Shediac

Overnighted like sardines in a treeless parking lot. Nothing was available...:bash:

..

Lunched at..

Great lunch for a King and Queen although a bit fried: Clams, shrimp, scallops, fish

And NOW this is a REAL Lobster roll sans fillers like in Newfoundland, Nova Scotia...

Canada did implement ULSD(ultra low sulphur diesel) since ** 2006, however they never label it at the pumps. Often times I get leery getting diesel fuel in the outbacks by looking at a pump like this one...

As compared to this one in small cities

Ouch...:frown: :idunno:

Was assured by every fuel retailer that it's the real ULSD stuff...:thumbup:

Now back to bloggin' . Hardly any WiFi anywhere but if there was then I'll up load like snails pace. The picture uploading is the most tantamount effort... StarBucks seems to provide the most gig/mb uploading speed(cable) while satellite in most rural parts of Labrador/Newfoundland...New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Maine don't do very well.

Entered the Fundy Province...Great Provincial Park but booked to the hilt...

At low Tide...

cheers...

It's only a replica of a real full sized Moose but giving you the idea of what most long distance Truckers protect their front with..

Moose Guard..

The Town of Alma is saturated with these....but at $11.49/lbs...:bash: while in Newfoundland had em' for $6.50/lbs...

Lobster art...

See our Sprinter in the distance ???...Town was full, Campground was full. Asked the locals where one can legally and safely boondock. Was told to drive outside Alma and find this finger strip of sand and rock, it sits atop a dike. Since the tides have yet reached 40' this time, it's safe to overnight there, but only for 3 cars... Got there in time..

Catching the Ferry to Campobello in pea soup thick fog...

First in line.. :idunno:

It's 0830 hrs...guess they're all on Island time and waiting for the fog to lift ?? while us Doodoos don't know any better

Here she comes..

We're the only ones... :tongue::tongue:

Campobello Island is somewhere out there...

Emma trying to chase a squirrel up a tree..

Diseased pine trees...but beautiful architecture..one can make excellent bowls

After waiting for the tide to recede...

There are 2 gullies where one has to traverse down 2 steep steel ladders...these must also be climbed on ones return----very steep. Pictures don't do justice here.

Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Bridge crossing from Campobello, NB, CN to Lubec, Maine USA

Came to a US custom stop...pretty taciturn female border guard/inspector. "Any food stuffs ?; "Firewood", etc. "You went through the stop light up there"(Sun must have blinded us as for not seeing the light?).

'May I see the refrigerators contents"... Checked the food stuffs and all passed. Never asked about liquor.

Stamped our passports and back to Amerika we went. Thanks Canada for giving us a great time.

Last Canadian dollar(s) left...

cheers...

Went through Maine and overnighting in the usual States before stopping in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Mein Sprinter(my/mine Sprinter) has been superb in it's performance, reliability... "NO travel anxiety", as well as drivability. We have everything stock, nothing upgraded as per suspension; engine, etc. just standard stock Van whose interior was build by Roadtrek. Yes, many things "Roadtrek" didn't hold up on this trip but we made do.

We've have decided to give SunMotors-Mercedes Benz, Mechanicsburg, PA the leeway in rectifying anything "Mein Sprinter" might need(recalls) for having taken us through thick and thin on Labrador/Newfoundlands terrible roads without a hitch.

This is our thank you to "Mein Sprinter"...:bow::bounce::cheers::cheers::rad::rad:

They got 6 Sprinter bays..

Plenty of Vans for sale...

Hmmnn.....I'd still take Das Auto onto the Labrador ravaged roads..??..:tongue:

It's only money :idunno:

:cheers::cheers:

As this trip has finally ended we would like thank you for having followed our traveloque; given suggestions, guidances, reassurances, etc. Thank you:thumbup::thumbup:

cheers...

Goose Bay gets another unexpected fly-in:

...a 500-seat Airbus A380 with a problem:

Yep, glad GooseBay/Happy Valley is still there and being able to accommodate an A380. Gander which has the worlds largest airport would also have served the A380 well. Applause to the Pilots of this A380 for a smooth landing. :rad::rad:

cheers...

Sunshiny, happy greetings to you from Florida! Was so nice meeting you last summer, sharing stories, and enjoying all that Twillingate, NL had to offer. We were so glad to see you made your way to Campobello Island. What a beautiful, historic place to spend some time that gets overlooked by so many. It was so nice to follow your travels on this site - thanks for the beautiful pictures. We also hope your experience at Sun Motors in Mechanicsburg, PA was a pleasant one. They were very kind to us and did a great job getting us back on the road when we had an unexpected problem. All the best to you, have a wonderful summer and Auf Wiedersehen!

Hello Breezy2. Yes, SunMotors has always been there for us. Everytime we travel East or are on the way to NFLD/Lab. we make sure to stop at SunMotors(Brian Young) and have the Van checked for anything particular.

We just came back from a basic one month Eastern trip: wedding; kids in VA, and FL. Again had the Van checked at SunMotors before heading home to AZ.

Since we have explored the N.Eastern section of Canada to the hilt we plan from now on exploring much more of the N.Western US and Canada. Planning to venture to Graham Island, BC, Canada next summer and go foraging for mushrooms; fishing; hiking; exploring..etc. We'll be gone perhaps for a good good while.

Maybe, we'll see you there. One travels NORTH in the summer and NOT to the South as we just came from the south,,,, whew...the humidity; rains;;; heat... North one must go :thumbup: Hope to see you there...

cheers..
