Removing Espar D4 for maintenance

And a couple of more notes.

The glow plug can be removed with a 12mm open wrench if the fan/blower is removed first. I show it in a photo below.

I used a small pick to get the old screen out. Hard to not damage it, so I would assume you always need to replace it if you remove it. I went along the outside perimeter to loosen it a bit and get it rotating, then sort of screwed it out.

Our burn chamber was VERY clean. There was a tiny amount of carbon at the bottom of the hole where the screen goes. Used a narrow screwdriver and then just blew things out.

I would use both the Westy and Espar manual when doing this job. There is good info in both places.

The manual states that the gaskets needs to be replaced if the seal is broken. I did replace both gaskets when I took the fan and burn tube out.
