Default Sprinter mechanic Sydney recommendations?

Would love to know if you have a recommendation for (or against!) a mechanic in Sydney, preferably the inner west, or mobile.

Previous threads asking the same have mentioned a few, I figure I'll ask again if anyone has an update:

From the above:
- RH Adam & Sons, Padstow
- Silver Star Service Center, Kingsgrove
- Platinum Car Service in Pagewood
- Ace Auto Repairs, Caringbah (mobile?)

Ben.
What exactly do you need done?. The best person to service your vehicle is yourself. Eric.

Heh, agreed in general. In this case we're after an end-of-warranty inspection for a van bought used from a dealer. So someone who knows the things to look for on a 2013 316 CDI LWB van with about 150k on it.

May I suggest one of the above workshops that can issue RWC's, as we call them in Victoria. NSW has a different system to Vic.
I would assume in general that the lack of warning lamps lit up, would be a good indicator of no warranty issues.
The registered mechanic may pick up issues that aren't covered by warranty!

Ben.
The down side of taking your sprinter to a mechanic is they will probably jam a pry bar into the front ball joints lever the ball open then claim you need new ball joints. It happens every day. So if you do take it to somewhere ask first if they know the correct way to test the lower ball joints. I agree with Sockeye, if there are no lights on and no strange noises then you are better of not to let a stranger mess with it. Learning about the vehicle yourself is by far the best way forward. Eric.

Both Silver Star Service Center, Kingsgrove, and Platinum Car Service in Pagewood are declining vans these days.

The van seems all good, though there is one fault code when reading OBD using a OBDLink LX reader: "P2BAC NOx Exceedance - Deactivation of EGR". There is no actual problem in terms of engine performance/power, smoke, or fuel efficiency, no 'check engine light'/MIL, and no other codes. So fingers crossed that's not a real problem...

Ben.
Using a non MB scanner can give random Codes. There has been posts on here showing a long list of codes that amount to nothing. Eric.
