Year to buy - 2010, 2013or 2014?

I’m looking to buy a small motor home and have seen three that are of interest. The one that I like the best is the 2010 which (I’ve heard) is built on a 2009 chassis which means that it has the DPF, but does not use DEF. Is this a good thing, or would it be best to buy the 2013 or 2014? I have heard that the 2007-2009 are not as good as the later models. I drive a 2006 diy camper van which runs great, but want a camper with more amenities.

Thank, Rick

Our 2010 Sprinter Roadtrek Agile 2500 has DPF and DEF(6.6 gal tank). Had plenty of NOx problem then had to replace the DEF heater and pump($$$$). As I can understand that the 2013-14 have generation 5 NOx sensors!

cheers...

I have the 2.0TDi 2011 with DPF, no DEF, and only once had the DPF warning lamp come on, this was a result of taking small journeys with the van, to clear the DPF warning lamp, a good run on my freeway for 20 minutes, averaging 90kmh triggered the regen, and warning lamp cleared..
