Default Bike Rack

Since I have seen previous posts related to bike racks, here is our slightly modified bike rack. We purchased the Swagman Traveler bike rack because we planned to tow a vehicle and did not want the bikes on the back of towed vehicle. This is might not happen for a while see previous post.

Since we are not towing a vehicle, we purchased a 24” tube insert. We added trailer lights to the bike rack because when the bikes are covered the license plate and tail lights are obscured. We did not want the hold-down hooks clamped onto the bike frames during travel, especially since my wife’s bike is carbon fiber. We used the swagman adapter bar to avoid this scenario. It was attached to the seat using e-bolts.

The Velo sock is not waterproof and is a little pricey, but it keeps the bikes clean. When searching for a cover there were always a couple of reviews that claimed the cover was destroyed while traveling.

When traveling down the road movement of the bike is extremely limited thanks to the quiet hitch.
