It's been awhile since I posted an update on the build.
I picked up some 1/4" 4x8 sheets and some foam from depot and some microfiber material from the fabric store and made some cushions.
You can kind of see from the last picture I ended up adding some holes on the ends of the mattress. This was an afterthought as I realized the mattress kept slipping off the frame as I drop and I realized I needed to secure it. You can see in the below picture that there's a piece of Velcro that wraps around the frame and secures the mattress down. Each mattress secures in all 4 corners so that when I collapse the frame they stay put.
I used the set up for the first time the other week when I went elk hunting. It worked like a charm and was very comfortable!
It even provided a nice place to hang the lantern from!
And best of all it provided some good luck to me
