Wet wiper option

Those with the wet wiper option - how are you liking it? This is one of the few options from the VS30 that I wish I had, but also seems like the easiest to retrofit. I thought I remember reading that the washer fluid tank was heated somehow with this option. I'm guessing the tank, pump, and arms would need to be swapped for this to work.

I like it so far. Not sure how this will do during cold winter days. I am a bit skeptical for winter use.

Freezing in the wiper unit...but I think I read it’s heated washer fluid...but the line coming from tank to arm could freeze...maybe?

The older Mercedes sedans used to have a brass loop in the washer tank that came off the heater hose circuit. This would warm the window washing fluid very effectively.

Don't know about Sprinters, but I have them in our Volvo. They are awesome. Cleans the whole window uniformly, no streaks, and uses much less of that expensive BEVO-certified washer fluid. :smilewink:

I've also read that the washer tank was heated with something from the coolant loop. But, I struggle to see how that would help as it seems like you'd have to push a lot of fluid through the cold line to get to the warmer fluid.

I need to take a peak under the hood of a new sprinter, but I suspect the pump/tank is the same, and the it would just be a new wiper arm.

Not. I would like to see even one windshield washer fluid that goes down to -50F.
I mentioned the extreme case. Most are only good to about -20F like this Prestone brand:

But there are stronger mixes available:

Likely only in northern Canada or Alaska - but they can still freeze up:

Lots of washer fluids go below -45C in Canada. Not a problem.
