You used: https://media.giphy.com/media/4baoNZ5Qo8dX2/giphy.gif in #78 ... but with URL around it. Here in message #81, you put the decimal point *after* the "gif" and left out the / before the file's name. You also had the initial https:// duplicated, which created https://https:// ... which is total garbage. I think you were trying for https://giphy.com/gifs/old-sick-pepsi-VT5yj3MS2y8gM/giphy.gif Which (with IMG tags (which you can see by quoting this message)) does: ![]() (there's an IMG-tagged line/invocation above this line) --------------- which didn't work (since it ended up at the *page*, not the *file* That *file's* real address is: https://media.giphy.com/media/VT5yj3MS2y8gM/giphy.gif which creates this with the IMG tags: ![]() Notice that the "proper" address does not have "gifs/sick-pepsi" in the middle of it. You can test the addresses you're coming up with by putting them into the "location" space in your browser. Ones that will work here in the forum should only show the animated image, with *nothing else* around it. --dick (who REALLY wishes you used more tasteful examples)(in fact, i'll stop using them)

Thanks for your patience and help Dick. I can be slow on the uptake. I am learning disabled in accordance with title 5 of Commiefornia Health and Education code. Or, was it title 7. Forgot.

I guess I am just not smart enough. Cry!!!
Maybe I can sue the Los Angeles Unified School District for stifling my youthful creative mojo. My school days, progressive educators gave me stigmatizing names like, unruly brat, troublemaker, etc, merely because I was expressing myself. Made me feel under-appreciated, stigmatized and ostracized. https://giphy.com/gifs/ufc-mma-ufc-2...IFuvb9S116ER3O Last edited by Bobnoxious; 09-07-2018 at 06:37 PM. |

https://media.giphy.com/media/End93EfxlfhGo/giphy.gif Which, given IMG tags yields: ![]() So, instead of my use of right-clicking, let's look at what you had: https://giphy.com/gifs/wantering-End93EfxlfhGo From that, we only want the "End93EfxlfhGo" which we drop into the surrounding boilerplate of "https://media.giphy.com/media/" and "/giphy.gif" to get the desired: https://media.giphy.com/media/End93EfxlfhGo/giphy.gif ...which you give to the Postcard icon (or manually add the surrounding [img] and [/img] ... or simply stop using an iPhone. --dick p.s. you are invited to try that "cookbook" approach with https://giphy.com/gifs/ufc-mma-ufc-209-3og0IFuvb9S116ER3O The part that's important is 3og0IFuvb9S116ER3O (everything after the final hyphen (-))

"www.smileycentral.com" does not (currently) have a name-to-number translation in the internet's address look-up system
(the DNS: domain naming system). Ya gotta have the number to reach the server. --dick
