Here's how MB does it ... they use a double pole, double throw (center off) switch:


No relay is involved (there's one supplying the power feed, but it's independent of seat switching)

2005 T1N 118" Freightliner 2500 Passenger Wagon (2.7L, 15" tires, standard (short) roof)
