No, it's not BS.

The purpose of a warranty is not to immunize the owner against all possible adverse experiences in vehicle ownership.

The purpose of a warranty is to give the manufacturer the opportunity to correct manufacturing defects within a specified period.

If a failure is not a manufacturing defect, then it's not a warrantable concern, regardless of the miles or months.
