Power Loss On 2005 LTV

Driving home from a trip on Sunday we had a power loss at 40mph. We could accelerate up to 40mph but little after that up to 60mph which was the top speed. It is not the famous resonator failure. The check engine light came on the next day. We have checked hoses for cracks and don't see any. Has anyone experienced this? We have a LTV 2005 Free Spirit. We will be taking it to a local Dodge/Sprinter Service Dept. but thought someone here may have had this experience.
Thanks for any replies.

GailS,
First a hale and hearty welcome to the forum.

FWIW. Engine/drivetrain questions are generally better posted in either the T1N section, as is your case for your 2005, or the NCV3 section for V6 models. The engine/drivetrain is the same regardless of whether it's an RV or van.

As you probably already know, it sounds like LHM limp home mode.

Especially being that the MIL maintenance indicator light has come on you really need to check for codes. The best method is to get them read by a DRBIII (dealer) scan tool. If you go to Auto Zone, Advance Auto, etc. they will probably scan with a OBDII scan tool for free. The information from the free OBDII scan will yield less complete, generic diesel codes, but it may point you in the proper direction.

Many codes are listed here:

If your vehicle is still under warranty forget everything I said and get thee to the dealer. Hope this does some good. AP/vic

Thanks for the welcome and info.

We took our RV to a local Dodge Service Dept. and after two days they were not able to locate or fix the problem.

Today we took it to Hagerstown MD Freightliner. They found a clip missing from the turbocharger actuator lever that caused the turbo shutdown.

We were very pleased with their service and knowledgable mechanics. We will definitely return for future service.
