View Full Version : Front door question-lock and trim

I'm working on my passenger side door lock. Issue: the key can lock/unlock the door but there was significant resistance to the process. Interior door handle would be very hard to latch locked, with a rubbery feel to it vs. the solid latching feeling of normal operation. I removed the door panel and cable from the handle. Locking the door with key now feels normal, with no resistance to it. Inspection of the door handle lock on panel doesn't reveal any obstructions or issues with operation. I suspect it's the cable but wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on it. Here's a pic of the door interior w/ cable:

While the door panel was off, I was also looking at the interior window seal on the door frame. Mine was loose and I wanted to reattach it. It feels like it should attach via snug fit, but it had come loose prior and would submarine into the door panel with window operation. Does anyone have an adhesive recommendation to make this piece stay in and/or a part number for a replacement? Here's a pic of the piece:

My front door locks(on both sides) don't work at all with my key fob key.
They are very stiff. The sliding door lock and key does work. And the rear door lock.
I'll be following along.

How did you get the door panel off.

The door-pull cover can be twisted sharply to remove it, exposing several torx bolts, then use a trim stick to release the edge clips.

I just followed the directions attached. Pull cover off handle, remove two torx screws and lift up door panel. Need to unplug the power window plug and door handle cable. I suspect my cable may not be operating properly, hence the difficulty in key latching.
