are axle ratios different for 2500 and 3500?

I'm looking to buy a T1N style and would like to know whether the 3500 has a lower rear end ratio than the 2500. Any way to tell what ratio a given vehicle has?

Answer is; with the 2500 v 3500 the axle ratio is not interchangeable, The tin has two standard ratios available at your end of the pond,.

If you get the part number(s), perhaps the US - definitely the UK - parts catalog would be informative.

NCV3s have a label indicating ratio on the rear axle tube, to the right of the differential as you face forward from behind the differential housing. Maybe the T1Ns do as well?

Both the 2500 and 3500 were available with a 3.73 or 4.11 rear end.

There is an identification plate on the differential.

They were also sold with both 15" and 16" tires, which would act like a slight rear end change.
(i think the 3500 only had 16", but i'm not sure about that).

Let's see: 4.11/3.73 is a 10 percent change, and the shift from 16" to 15" is a 6 percent change.

I have '04 and '06 brochures for passenger vans (which are all 2500s). They show the 118" wheelbase having 15" wheels, others having 16". All wheelbases show the same differential (one brochure says 3.72, the other says 3.73).
I also have an '04 standard-equipment list for cargo-version T1Ns. It shows 15x6" wheels for 118" wheelbase, 16x6" wheels for longer wheelbases, and 15x5" wheels on the dual-rear-wheel 3500s. It says they all have the 3.72 diff as standard equipment... I don't have a T1N optional equipment list.
