Howdy -

If your Sprinter crosses 155K miles try submitting the form found here: http://www.mbusa.com/heritage/high-mileage.do.

Maybe if enough Sprinter folks send in evidence of succesful high mileages obtained it will wake MB USA up!

Most of them are down in FL running on veggie juice, cast block and head, built like a Shiite'n Heusen Brick House.

I just went past 155,000 in my 2004 long, tall cargo van this past week. I am going to give it a try.

Hi All,

I down loaded the form and filled it out. You have to have someone at a MBenz dealership sign the form to verify the odometer reading. My Dodge dealer where I get my Sprinter serviced is also a MBenz dealer. My Dodge service manager got the Mercedes service manager to sign my form and I dropped it in the mail. Waited and waited. Took about six weeks and I was beginning to think they were just going to ignore me because my Sprinter is really a Dodge. But, one day I got this nice box from FedEx with the Mercedes stuff inside. I received a letter, a nice certificate, and the 250,000 km badge for the grill.

I will have to admit that I cheated a little bit. Along with the application I enclosed a photo of my Sprinter with the Mercedes grill and badge. I would still be interested to know if they would give the award to an unmodified Dodge or Freightliner Sprinter.

My 1957 model 219, the engine fell out in 1958 when I hit a pot hole in Toronto, Canada. The engine rolled between the road and the car floor. MB at that time just starting out in Canada, the car being 6 months old, was fixed free. Took 3 months but they gave me a loaner.Good old day's

This model 219 had a 6 cyl. gas engine that had a lot of power. It had a 4 gear transmision, the shift patern was as an H , with reverse above 1st gear. You had no idee if you where in 1st gear or reverse. Yes I backed it into Montreal habour.

With or without the engine?
The Merc reminds me of an Italian Tank , it had one forward and thirteen reverse gears:smilewink:
