Hi Scott -

I did see your post but not until after I posted the part #'s . . .

The part #'s I've listed are Mercedes Benz part #'s. My understanding is that any authorized Sprinter dealer should be able to cross reference and look up those part #'s. You may also be able to get them from a Mercedes dealer as the Becker radio is actually used in other Mercedes models (although I don't it is on any North American spec Mercedes).

Early on I had contacted a Becker Supplier in CT, I think even there were two of them. I'll have to dig up my notes and find the number...

As much as I do not have an affection for the Becker unit, I DO like that it looks so plain Jane. Being in the city, no bling is a good thing. That is the primary reason that it still resides in the van, well, that and I paid too much for it so want to use it!

I added years ago rear speakers, HUGE difference. I'd like to be able to plug in my XM direct as there are so many radio stations around here that using the FM modulator is sometimes tedious. I considered at times getting a cassette H/U to use the adapter but I do sometimes use the CD player.

Howdy Scott -

I've got an iPod going in thru the Becker aux inputs. Works great - sound quality is as good as the Becker is capable of . . .

Do a Google on Becker and you'll be able to find Becker USA in New Jersey. They've got a great website, with lots of info. You can order the Becker aux input cable directly from them and not have to fool around with pin changes, etc. It goes out to two RCA female jacks. It cost me about $20 delivered and they even sent along the keys to remove the radio. Great service; I received the connector in two business days.

I tried ordering the cable through the Dodge dealer and got the famous blank look. I originally wanted a CD changer, but I couldn't get that either. I contacted Becker in New Jersey back in January. I ordered the aux cable, installation is pretty easy. My MP3 player is way better than a CD changer, plus I can plug in a laptop for the sound feed for movies. I would suggest using the longest RCA to a mini plug cable available. I use a 6' cable, the longer the better.
Here's Becker's information: HARMAN/BECKER AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS

Does the Sound 10 (cassette deck) have aux capabilities? Tired of using the 80s era cassette adapter with miPod.

yes it does. I installed one myself, and so has a few other posters. Apparently there's a cable you can order form Becker that plugs in the back of the head unit. I cheated and soldered wires directly onto the Aux tabs instead (I needed instant results). The pinout drawing is a few posts down.
:2cents:

I also installed two 6x9's in the partiton wall behind my bed. I had to add wires to the plug for the rear left and rear right speakers since they are not there on (my) cargo model.

Since it is plugged into the back of the stereo, where does the RCA to a mini plug cable come out?
Hello AVL_Sprinter -

I routed my wires (a tricky and twisty and tight route) to the right and into the back of the glovebox.

I usually sit my iPod in the glovebox or on the open door of the glovebox depending on how often I want to change the track selections.

I have a DLO HomeDock Music Remote,
http://www.dlo.com/Products/mr_Prod.tpl?command=showpage&cart=11942326107137490. It is an Ipod dock and it uses an RF 2way remote to control the Ipod even if it is in the glove box. The remote is the size of a pack of gum and has a 3 line display for choosing artists, playlists and songs It also has a rechargable battery. The funny thing about it is it doesn't need power to operate, it only needs power to charge the Ipod and remote. About $130, Best Buy has them.
