i think you are talking about the ABS control module
Sounds like it.

Mercedes likely will refer to it as the CAB Controller Anti-lock Brake module commonly known as ABS, but anti-lock braking is only one of the functions. The Sprinter CAB module includes a pump, solenoids, and controls which are used for ABS, ASR, ESP, and possibly other driving safety systems.

In my circle of friends commonly the ABS unit is referred to as the Brick

I had to replace mine. $$$$$

I think the parts book said ‘ABS hydraulic control unit’.
The diagnostics said it had a bad valve if I recall.
