Sprintshift Oil Level Check

How do you check oil level for transmission on2001 sprintmatic 6 speed box.

It has gone into limp mode and could be the 13vpin trans connector as it was covered in oil.
We are not sure when the old plug case is taken out that we will loose oil.
Or is it worth changing the oil.

The gearbox oil level for the sprintshift as stated in MB WIS is 10mm ( approx 3/8inch) below the filling hole
The hydraulic circuit for the clutch and gear change level is set by a riser tube in the reservoir, so you have to add the hydraulic oil till it flows out of the opening on the reservoir marked control after removing the 5mm Allen screw plug, located underside of the gearbox towards the rear
The hydraulic oil is specific can be obtained from MB or Pentosin CHF 11 S or Penrite LDVAS ,verify for suitability
What are the symptoms that caused the limp mode? and what diagnostic tool did you use to get P2008 code?

As we are in .uk and RV in Oz, we have a friend who has found a guy who seems to know a lot about Merc.
He has seemed to track the problem back to the Sensor Clutch Module, so changing that Hoping it sorts it out.

OK, as the sprintshift system is complex it can be difficult to diagnose
