Hi! New sprinter (2005, 125k) owner and new to the forum. The van's previous owner had no service records and virtually no useful info to share about it's history. I've been lurking for the last two weeks in an effort to gleam as much info about how best to approach my van's enumerable problems. Thank you all so much for this invaluable resource!
So far, I've replaced the turbo resonator (totally different van afterwards!), the exhaust pipe from the turbo to the catalytic converter which had been completely severed after the flex pipe, and changed the coolant. I have a new fuel filter to put in and an EGR valve gasket for after I clean the valve.
These are the fault codes my OBDII scanner is picking up:
P0671 Cylinder 1 Glow plug circuit
P0672 Cylinder 2 Glow plug circuit
P0673 Cylinder 3 Glow plug circuit
P0674 Cylinder 4 Glow plug circuit
P0380 Glow Plug / Heater circuit A
I assume it's the glow plug module under the battery. I haven't checked the glow plugs with a wire and 20 amp fuse yet. Can I ignore these glow plug issues during the hot summer months without doing damage to my engine?
My next job on this behemoth is the AC which I have a few questions about. I'm not sure of the forum etiquette but I'll create a new thread for that until I'm told to consolidate in the future.
Really excited to be a part of this community.
Sorry this was so long!
Teddy
PS So much rust.
