Door Card Removal

How do we take the window winder off so the door card can be removed for maintenance.

Chapter 23, page 19 shows it with far too little description.

Roughly, push the panel into the door a bit, and pull out the ring-clip that's hiding behind the knob's hub.
Pull it in the figure's dashed-arrow direction.
