I used Dave's Auto Service / Salt Lake City Sprinter Repair in September 2020. I had a known fuel leak issue from the sending unit seal. I had them replace the seal, smoke test the tank, steam clean the tank, and replace all hoses on the fuel cooler and above the tank (filler hose, feeder hose). Also had them add an auxiliary tee for a future heater addition, change fuel filter, and bleed the brake system.

Not cheap by any means, but highly professional service. Looks like labor was billed around $100-$130/hr, but was mostly prepopulated based on task (i.e. $107 drain fuel tank, $119 bleed brakes, etc.). Parts were mostly dealer ordered, so look like billed at MB rates.

I brought it in on a scheduled appointment (Tuesday) (they were 10 days out when I called). They were able to diagnose and order parts by COB Wednesday. Parts were in on Monday, and the vehicle ready by following Wednesday, so 9 days in the shop total.

Shop was super communicative by text, phone, and email. Mechanic's diagnostics were sent with a link to a page with mechanics notes, photos, and videos. Tech followed up, after diagnostics were sent, to talk through the assessment and confirm work authorization.

Overall positive experience. They have a complete machine shop, plenty of indoor lift space, and are extremely knowledgeable of Sprinters and diesels. They aren't the cheapest mechanic in the valley, but if you need a Sprinter specialist and want reliable work or diagnostics, I would certainly recommend them. I hopefully won't have any issues that will need their engine services, but am glad to know they are accessible and in the area.

Where did you have this Tee added? If in either the feed or return for the main engine fuel system then this is not the recommended procedure for a Sprinter.

The ONLY recommended place to tap a Sprinters fuel system is either the factory original 'KL1 Sender unit for Aux Heater' or to add a standpipe through the fuel pump flange. This advise has been repeated many times before on the forum.
