Radiator Burping Procedure

My 2004 didn't seem to need much special attention any of the times I've refilled the coolant. Just pour in until "FULL", drive, top off later. My Jetta on the other hand... =)

I found the system did not require burping. I had just installed a new aux circulating pump and believe that that may auto burp the system, if it’s working. I’m guessing a lot of T1Ns at this point have dead aux circulating pump as you wouldn’t know unless you were using the Espar with the engine off.

No need for air purge. Just refill the system. Get the engine up to operating temperature with the cabin heat enabled aka set to high. After cooled check the level and top off as needed. I'd check again in a few days just for peace of mind.

If the low coolant level dash warning hasn't triggered recently I would check that for proper operation as part of the draining for the water pump replacement.
