Diesel Purge

I remember reading on another thread about it but couldn't find it again. Does anyone have suggestions on a good process to run liquimoly diesel purge through the system and try to clean the injectors? Something about running a fuel line out of a pressurized vessel with the diesel purge in it?

I’ve done this on 5 Sprinters. I know in three instances it has remedied some funky running issues and would love to find a Sprinter with poor injector fuel atomization to see if it possibly remedies that issue..

Seems like some well respected members feel this process is risky.... fortunately I haven’t had any issues..

If you are meticulously clean, and only introduce the cleaner pre fuel filter, you will be okay. 04-06 models need a 60psi or more lift pump to feed fuel. Earlier models will be easier with a lift pump, 5 psi would be okay. Good luck.

Right on, I may just run the thing almost out of fuel and add a couple bottles to the tank it seems like the other process is a pain plus buying the pump.

Although a pretty simple process, yes kind of a pain. I’d also empty the FF and fill with DP if you’re not going to disconnect the fuel tank...

I will fill the fuel filter with DP when the tank is almost dry. I appreciate the insight.
