Has anyone checked out the new electrical features of the Pleasure Way RVs. They seem to have leap frogged the Road Trek setup. They don't have the second alternator like the RT does, but I like the traditional generator anyway. However, I do like their argument that using the engine as the generator means you have emissions controls, and the engine is quieter.
The new setup is lithium batteries, they had these last year but on the XLs they now have 5 solar panels feeding them. 200 amp hours/27 amp solar means you should be able to charge totally dead lithium batteries in a single day of sun. Wow. Oh, I guess it's cool that RT can run their AC off their batteries, but they don't make a wide body so they need less AC in the first place.
And the biggest change for PW is the new control panel, looking very similar to the Airstream panel, likely the same manufacturer. It's a 7" touch screen that shows all your gauges, lets you control your lights, and the big new features include power meter and a full featured Automatic Generator Start. Like on the Road Trek if you have your batteries getting low or more likely if you need to run the AC for your animals just set it and forget it. It ties into all the climate controls, so your furnace, your Fantastic Fan, and your generator backed AC are all working together to keep the RV comfortable. You can even specify the speed of the Fantastic Fan to what RPM you want, not just Low Med and Hi.
They also moved to Fiamma awnings which have a full metal base plate allowing more secure footing, and w/o legs it's good to be firmly attached to the RV. Even has a lock when the awning is closing so it cannot come open unless you want it open.
I would be curious, all the videos and the brochures about the XLs they don't seem to mention anything about the suspension. I really wonder, if with their short overhang, the XLs wouldn't be great for adding a motorcycle lift to. Their cargo carrying capacity is very generous, almost feel I could never use it all with those tiny water tanks.
