Brake Fault Light

Greetings,

On my 2008, I can't get the brake wear light to go off. (It is the one on the dash that looks like a drum with shoes around it.) All of the brakes are good and the sensors are not touching the discs. I believe it went on when the brakes wore down last time. Is there a way to reset it after a brake job? Thanks.

It could be damaged wiring or the sensor itself... which is merely two bits of wire sticking out, expecting to be shorted together when they touch the metal rotor (due to pad wear bringing them close enough).

I'd also check the owner's manual to see if they assign a second function to the display light.

Sensors can be checked with an ohm meter. If one of the wires breaks it will turn the light on. I have had quite a few of them go bad.
