Bull bar installation help

I have my eyes set on this 4" Bull Bar from Luverne:

But the factory indicates that it will only fit 2014-2017 Sprinters. Are the mounting points on a 2008 different than the updated front end, or is the difference only cosmetic?

I called the factory and was only able to speak to a sales person, and he said that what is on the spec sheet is probably accurate.

If it is different, how much drilling would I need to do to get it to fit?

edit: The funny thing is, on their installation sheet, the example photo of the bolt placement is from a 2008-2013 Sprinter

It's a damage multiplier. It reduces clearance and if something hits it, it takes out a lot of stuff behind it.

What's your reasoning for wanting this product? Do you 'need' it in some way?
