any specific mechanicals to look for when purchasing a 2006

I am going to look at a 2006 dodge 2500 158" WB with 128k on it. Any specific mechanical s to look for when looking at it? Any thoughts or advice is much appreciated.

What state?(Rust)... I would pull the valve cover and look for signs of "black death". Look for transmission leaks, pan and connector. I crawled under mine and looked for any bolt/nut that showed signs of wear that would suggest removal on the whole drivetrain. Service records? I would get it scanned by a factory scanner only, and get the printout. Turn on the AC and run it the whole test drive. Check fan on all 4 settings. Turn on Booster heater. Check if electric circulation pump is functioning by feeling it with engine running. Search forum for threads applicable.

Washington. Thanks for all your insight. I will add all of the to my current list. Do you know if this scanners are something that you have to go to a dealership to get done. Or can I rent one?
