As the charge air cooler is one more thing on a Sprinter I know little about (that list is long), I did a quick search to try and get up to speed. Here's some things I found interesting.

A comment from Jim Riordan:
"Hi Nate, no the V-6 models do not have the resonator problem, but several Dodge dealers have asked me to come up with a fix for a "turbo Air charge cooler" problem they are having with hoses cracking and blowing off this unit. I am working on a fix now. I have no doubt you will begin to hear more about it since Dodge says they are a real headache. The air charge cooler sort of looks like an "air" version of the old VW oil coolers and its sole purpose is to cool the incoming charge air. Apparently the flexing between the unit and the hoses is causing the hose to break which puts the vehicle in (YUP) limp home mode. . . . So, it essentially causes the same end result as the 5cyl turbo resonator problem which we have fixed. We should have a solid fix for this shortly so please feel free to have people who are experiencing this problem email me. This should be a cheaper and easy fix. Dealers are saying it is every bit as bad as the resonator problems on the 04-early 07 5cyls. Hope this helps, Best regards, Jim Riordan."
The link the quote came from follows below, but as with many forum threads it ambles a bit. (No offense intended, our Forum can amble a bit too. With my generalist approach I admit to not helping that situation for Sprinter-Source.)

Speaking of rambling, I came across this FedEx Sprinter inspection sheet. It seems pretty comprehensive.
