Rear step and towbar,

I want to fit a towbar, as you can see the rear step is in need of some care, is this type of rear step compatible with towbar s? I'm tempted to bin the step as it's a camper or RV.

The step appears OEM... and not near as bad as the one on my 2004.

On this side of the pond there are various towbars that can be used with the OEM step. I assume you have some over there too.

I did a hack job repair on my rusted to nuthin' step. It's been working fine.

... Or, more in keeping with the vehicle, scaffold board with a load of weather proof stuff on it.
That sounds like a plan.

The rear step provides little impact protection. That said, it does offer more than the standard bumper as found on my 2006. The OEM standard unit is really just a pretty cover piece of plastic.

Maybe just pressure treated dimensional lumber?

Please post pics of your solution. Have fun.
