2003 Antena

Hello folks, does anyone know if the the stock Antena on a 2003 high roof sprinter is amplified, ie, does it need a 12 volt power lead. I replaced the stock radio and the reception is like 10% what it used to be. I used an adaptor which has no prevision for a power lead. The aftermarket radio of course has a blue wire for Antena power. Do I need to use a different adaptor? Much thanks for any insights. Ron

My 02 needs power to the antenna to work, I went through same deal. I'm pretty sure then the door buzzers would come on anytime I opened door, regardless of lights on or key in ignition.

added: the antenna is also shown as being powered directly from Fuse 15 (the ignition-key-switched feed to the radio) on Fuse Block 1 (under the steering wheel)

Thanks Dick, the second post is pretty clear even though I'm not so familiar with electrical schematics. I ordered an xtenzi antenna adaptor from ebay. It looks well made and the metro ones had mixed performance reviews on amazon.
