View Full Version : Awning Window Failure

01-09-2009, 10:37 PM
I had two awning windows installed by a reputable company.
The one in the sliding door clattered loudly when closing the door.
I was told that this is normal.
After a few weeks of use, the rear most of the two awnings in the door failed,
and the window was left flapping in the breeze.
The plastic wheels that glide in the aluminum track both cracked and lost fragments.
I secured it in the track and left it closed.
A week from today the upfitter will replace the entire window, as they have no parts for repair.
I'm afraid that the same thing will happen to the replacement.
Has anybody heard of this failure?
By the way, the window is part Atwood, part Creation!
Also, unlike the one opposite it, the channel for the actuator wheels is half way up the awning glass, instead of at the bottom.
Does anybody have one like this?
