Hi. Scanned for codes on my 02 Sprinter with 232K miles (original owner maintained it well) using Carsoft 7.4 and mux interface. With the live CDI injection test I get a slight positive value for cylinder 1 and 3 but a slight negative value for the others (after a warm start) - my understanding is that refers to the relative fuel pressure. Are the values for the correction/adjustments considered normal?
And is this in any way related to my P1481 P1482 engine codes (glow plug failure - probably #1 and relay pre-glow output) which never showed up before but I did have an issue with the light. Will have to test the plugs. Previous codes erased referred to when the battery had low voltage.
Does the Sprinter not add codes to the existing list in memory for a particular module until the present codes are erased first?
I had taken the van for a 15 mile or so drive to warm it up. It wouldn't start when it got colder than -10C (more like -20C+ with windchill) and I left it for 4.5 days until it warmed up to -8C (and little wind). Managed to get it to hard start - glow plug light quickly turned on and off after 2 secs and then remained on (cluster warning lights and display seemed to go out while cranking the engine). Once engine was warmed up, subsequent starts had glow plug light on/off and it either came on again or stayed off for good. Battery was charged up beforehand, but I've had issues with the glow plug light when the weather was much warmer.
Also, got one FBS/FFS error (P1781 - cannot find info) and a few EGS errors but van seems to drive fine. P2001 code claims my EGS module is faulty.
Might I have a bad ground somewhere also?
Let me know if you have any info or suggestions.
Planning to have an electric block heater installed this week and hoping to get my Espar coolant heater working (cannot find any switch for it). Anyways, the engine runs very smooth and just as quiet as my friend's 06 with 38K miles on it.
Thanks.
