So here is a head scratcher... I just installed my new stereo in my 2005 Dodge Sprinter 3500... And it works but only if the overhead light is switched to the ON position... The kicker is that it seems like it is getting some power when thats not in the on position (IE. It can eject CD's and briefly lights up when the ignition is turned).

Any thoughts? Bought it used and built it out... no idea what I could have messed with or connected wrong to make that happen?

Thanks in advance!

First off, tell us how you wired it?? (wire colors you attached to and where).

The front interior lights are a wiring zoo... turning on a switch grounds various wires, but also invokes actions by the Central Timer Unit.

You can download the 2006 (and 2003) service manual from http://aie-services-2.net/Sprinter/
The interior lights are section 8w-44

Hey thanks for the response and the link to the manual.

So, I took this wiring diagram and wired up a VW adaptor to my new stereo...

Seemed to match this image...

So I basically matched this wiring guide and switched the +ACC and +Batt like I've read around this forum for the VW Adaptor.
