Left Hand Tail Light Assy Won't Come Off

On my 2008 NCV3 144" Cargo van the left tail light assembly won't come off.
I removed the three Tork screws just fine and that side off the lens will "swing back a bit, BUT the outboard side seems to be held under a flange or something!

My owners manual shows an illustration indicates "it should just slide sideways (outboard) in the direction an arrow"! However, with the screw side loose the outboard side is retained in some manner I cannot see!

Has anyone else solved this issue? "This Taillight lens assembly looks far too expensive to risk breaking by prying or hammer against"! Help please!
TK

Pull it straight back to you. Toward the back of van. Got a stir stick to get it going? since finger tip won't fit. The light has slots in it that ride over a stud with a nylon washer thats captive like an old wall phone. Sometimes they stick a bit
