DTC P1105

Another low power thread: 2004 Dodge Sprinter with permanent P1105 Atmospheric Pressure Sensor low voltage code. Has rough idle and about 1/4 power. Replaced air filter, fuel filter (with O-rings) and up-stream MAP sensor (on air filter housing). Is 1105 part of the ECU? Who rebuilds these units? Also trying to remove the EGR valve but it's stuck pretty bad in the housing.

Thank you for any advise.

The upstream sensor on the airbox is the Mass Air Flow sensor or MAF, you want to look at the MAP sensor on the plastic housing after the intercooler before the last turbo hose to the EGR, it has connection or sensitivity problem maybe from dirty air or oil

Removed the EGR and clean it (was not too bad). Still fighting the P1105 code. Removed the ECU and found a label with part number 647 153 24 79 on it. The original label reads 647 153 10 79. Has this ECU received a SW flash? Who does rebuilds for Sprinter ECUs?

Thank you,

Marc

Just for the info, 647 153 10 79 is Dodge 05137615AA
647 153 24 79 is Dodge 05140004AA

The original 2006 parts catalog lists 05166760AA (MB 647 153 28 79)

The 2004 catalog lists two units:
05117562AA (MB 612 153 38 79) (note that it's not "647")
and 05117567AA (MB A612 153 58 79) ... if you have option "NAA", which is the Federal Emissions (i.e. non-CARB)
... annnd.. to add to the fun, both of those two can also be had with an "AB" as the final letters:
A612153387980 05117562AB
A612153587980 05117567AB (gleaned from the MB/Chrysler part number conversion list View attachment T1N-Chry-to-MB-parts-ref.pdf)

This is one of those cases where accessing the MB database with your specific VIN would cough up what the current recommended part is for your Sprinter.

2004 was a transition year... some were 50-state (CARB) compliant, some were not.
What does the paper label on your injector cover say CARB-wise? (2005 CARB example shown here)

It"s a non CARB truck. BTW found the issue being the turbo itself. After disconnecting the rod, I activated the turbo manually and found only minimum boost. Now, why the ECU only set a code for P1105 and not for boost pressure control is the question. Customer supplied a used unit and I will install and see.

Thank you,

Marc
