Contemporary motor car -nj
Tried to charge me $$$ to change the complete tail light housing for 1 burnt out bulb . I walked over to the parts counter and the parts guy gave it to me for FREE.
I could answer some of the hidden objections by owners references to "stealerships" being closely involved in this industry !
BUT before we enter the realms of cost and benefit of getting your car fixed why don't you look at the American healthcare system for waste, rip off, and value for money on a for profit based system. Plus of course the preventative medicine available for you so that it keeps profits high or maximized.
On average a dealer charges about to 80 to 90 cents a minute for repairs to a fairly complicated piece of equipment, your vehicle!
Your Med physician or dentist charges about 120c per minute on average for working on YOUR ailment whatever that might be.
Now what is the difference and the objection?
One Pflyer on this forum has had the honesty to respond to this question I have raised before!
And that is
Most of you have insurance and you don't much care what they (healthcare ) charge but really you should because your co pays and premiums are reflected within those charges.
I suppose if everyone in the nation was forced to buy vehicle repair insurance most wouldn't give a rip on what would it cost either!
So in reflection does anyone on this forum know what is the admin/profit mark up on a delivery of a medical procedure here in the USA!
Dare to compare may I say across the pond! How do they measure up on bang for the buck?
Who gives the best for in service that buck or Euro and the profit?
Equally does the Euro based repair shop make as much as their American counterparts and do they make profits as well and give equal or better service for the money.
You see most businesses are in business to make a profit and keep the lights on!
There is a cost of doing business and it must be covered else you go broke!
No socialism here for sure in the MV repair business!
As one Dame Margaret Thatcher once quoted "Socialism is great until the money runs out"!
So that Starbucks coffee at the dealership has to be paid for !
Think about it!
