View Full Version : How do you remove the sliding door trim panel?

My '06 Sprinter has manual door locks. The lower flange of a slider window installed in the sliding door blocks the pop-up stem, so when the window was installed, the plastic top of the locking stem was removed and the threaded metal rod dropped inside the door. The lock still works with an outside key, but there is no way to lock or unlock the door from the inside. I need to get to the threaded stem and modify it so it will not drop back into the door.

How do you remove the inside handle on the sliding door? I've tried removing the large phillips screw, but the handle still seems fixed to the door.

If we're talking about the same thing there are two plastic plugs covering fixings that you'll need to pry out.

Thanks MIG. I didn't see the plastic plug covering the front screw. The back screw was easier to see because it did not have a cover. I'll see what happens when I remove both screws. Rick
