New Audio amp power source ?

Hi all, have a quick question around where to source power for my amp.

I understand that you want to typically tap straight into the battery positive terminal for the amp power, fusing it within 18" or so from the battery.

I've got my head unit remote power wired up to the amp remote control port.

My question is around whether or not I can tap into the power via the EK1 terminals under the driver seat ? or is it still best to go straight to the battery and then put the inline fuse under the driver seat ?

I was thinking I could use either the 12v constant or the 12v switched terminal, but guessing the preferred way to would be to use the 12v constant. Assuming based on tried and true installs that the amp doesn't suck power unless it gets the control from the HU, which is on switched power anyways.

I have a Rockford Fosgate R400-4D amp. Running 4 channels (front components, and rear woofers)

thanks for the insight....
