That is the ASSYST "maintenance due" indicator.

Translates: -1500 miles past due for a Type B service.

2 wrenches is type B service
1 wrench is type A service

bobcatbob,
If you have the Manuals that were shipped with your Sprinter from the factory, the Maintenance Manual clearly outlines what service items are covered by an "A" service (Oil Change Plus) (oil change + some inspections+ tire rotation) or by the full "B" service...(new oil/new oil filter/new fuel filter/new air filter/new cabin filter plus some inspections +tire rotation.
You may be able to download these manuals (if they aren't in your Sprinter) from the Dodge Sprinter owners
website.
https://www.dodge.com/download/pdf/manuals/2004_VA_Sprinter.pdf
The Freightliner website only goes back to 2010 but the Dodge and Freightliner Sprinters are/were identical so the Manuals will be the same with just the brand
name changed..
Hope this helps,
Roger

It means that it is time for a service. I Usually ignore it. There is a way ro reset it. Google it.
